Only half a year later...

But I finally got my other Father's Day card done!! Hubby had a chance to stop by Denmark to visit with the in-laws last month and so I'm scrambling to get all my ducks in a row for cards to give to the family. And now, of course, I'm playing post-catch-up.

Additionally some exciting news - it's National Stamping Month! Which means it's time to celebrate with another stamp set. With a minimum order of $30.00. you can get the below set free:

This exclusive C-Sized stamp is only available during the month of September (value of $15.25) ! Congratulations to Jeanette Lynton for bringing us 30 Years of CTMH!

And of course the stamp of the month is Family is Forever

 This beautiful set is yours for only $5.00 more with a qualifying purchase of $50.00. So if you happen to have $50.00 worth of an order, not only do you get this cute stamp set for $5.00 more but you also qualify for the free stamp set above!

This one I'm not sure where the inspiration came from. I might have started with this: Case Study Challenge 202 : Shari Carroll but then veered well away from it.

I wanted to do some more embossing with my Cuttlebug and the awesome CTMH folders that came out not too long ago. I thought the Quatrefoil Embossing folder was pretty masculine. As well I'm just starting to sink my teeth into distressing. I'm still balling up little things of paper towel to use as embossing tool (take note, anything is possible to transfer inks with) but hope to move to daubers later on. Distressing with various colors will have to make an appearance at the Christmas workshop!

I brought the pattern behind the tools on the front to the inside of the card and distressed around the card with Barn Red. What can I say, this card made itself - I just simply fiddled with things.

Other:
* Cream cardstock
* Brads
* Black Sharpie Pen

CTMH:
* You're The Best Set - retired
* Timberline Level 2 paper pack - retired
* Barn Red Ink
* Blue / Green Epoxy Adhesive Bubbles
* Quatrefoil Embossing Folder
* Ponderosa Pine Ink

It's a lot chillier these mornings!

Happy Father's Day!!

It is that day in the year that we celebrate everything that our Dads mean to us. And for those of us who were the eldest and female in the house, there were a lot of funny stories to follow.

I still remember how loud it was when Dad's jaw dropped - after I'd asked him for a 3AM curfew, the day I brought home a boy that wasn't Chinese (and I even married him six years later!). And then when I married into an amazing family, acquired a second Dad and there were equally many amusing moments between him and I. (And yes I know... this post is a little late... it's been a crazy year for me).

Today's inspiration is Case Study : Challenge #145 interpreted by Lynn Mangan.

I used the rock and roll technique to give the lanterns some more oomph. Perhaps this year I'll wise up and actually find a proper Father's Day and Mother's Day stamp set in time for next year. In the meantime, I think this one turned out pretty awesome.

Other:

CTMH:
* Paper Lantern
* Classmate Alphabet

* Itty Bitty Sparkles
* Adhesive Pearls - Mocha

I meant to post this back in June but as you can see...  a little late on the post :)

More Father's Day...

... as it were we celebrated early, so a CM consultant and I decided to sit down and have a go at cardmaking/scrapbooking on actual Father's Day. I hadn't seen her in a long time, so it was a good greetup, and I actually finished two layouts of which one is featured below, and three cards. All Father's Day Themed, of course.

My old pace used to be 3 hours on one card, but let's say back then I was on a mission.

Could someone help me out? I know this layout is from the Originals book, but I cannot for the life of me remember it's name. This is the Cubes and Colors Layout from Originals.

I'm getting one year ahead of myself because I borrowed her Originals book and just had to try out a few layouts. And I had a quote in mind to use so I figured I'd just write it on. It looks really personalized that way.

Cute and Simple

I saw this template in Wishes and was inspired to try it out. It's a tiny little 3x3 card but sometimes the smallest things are the most precious. On the inside, it says 'Father's Day' as the Happy in my 'A Little Everything' set was too big! Today's idea is inspired by Heart 2 Heart's latest challenge, background stamping.

I'm not sure which one of my Dads (my FIL or my Dad) will get this, but next year they will :)
